charlotte bronte has a unique way of arranging words to paint a scene, a moment or one's character and for this week's "beholding beauty" segment, i thought i should share a a quote i came cross whilst reading her only published book; "villette"
"she was the child of pleasure…but gaiety expanded her butterfly’s wings, lit up their gold dust and bright spots..made her flash like a gem and flush like a flower..
villette chapter fourteen, page two one one (penguin classic)
"beholding beauty" is a chance for you and i to take in the spontaneous or curated moments where we encounter a song, a word, a photo, a thought or a bite that makes our hearts smile. i encourage you to collect these moments be it digitally or the old-fashioned way in a scrapbook or journal. below is a short video clip of the first chapter. i captured this moment whilst in the train as the first snow gradually blanketed paris.
